Best Deadlock Keybinds: The Setup That Wins Fights (2026)

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Default keybinds are fine until a fight gets chaotic and you fumble an item that would’ve saved you. A few smart rebinds make Deadlock dramatically smoother. Whether you came to www.deadlock.io from an FPS or a MOBA, here’s a keybind setup that just works.

Quick answer: Abilities are on 1–4 and item actives on Z/X/C/V by default. The big wins: move your most-used active item (and melee) to mouse side-buttons, and fix the V conflict between item 4 and push-to-talk.

Default binds

ActionDefault
Abilities1, 2, 3, 4 (4 = ultimate)
Item activesZ, X, C, V
DashShift (or double-tap a direction)
ParryF
ConsoleF7

What to rebind

  • Most-used active → mouse side button (Mouse4/Mouse5) so you never take a finger off WASD for your panic save.
  • Melee and parry are great on the other mouse button or a near-WASD key.
  • Push-to-talk off V (it collides with item 4) — pick a comfortable, non-conflicting key.
  • Set up quick-cast (via console binds) for actives so casting is one press, not two.

Templates

  • FPS players (Valorant/OW2): abilities on E/C/X, ult on Q, items on 1–4 — keeps abilities where your fingers expect them.
  • MOBA players (Dota/LoL): keep the defaults (abilities 1–4, items Z/X/C/V); just move melee/parry to the mouse and enable quick-cast.
🎮 Dota 2 players: the principle is the same as binding your active items (BKB/Blink) to comfortable keys — reachable without losing movement. Make your save the easiest button to hit.

Default binds shift between patches — verify in Settings → Hotkeys; the principles above are evergreen.
